Martin Garde Abildgaard is a writer and director based in Copenhagen, working worldwide.

His debut feature, A Beautiful Curse, has screened at 20+ international film festivals and won Grand Jury Prizes for "Best Feature Film" at Cinequest (USA), Galacticat Festival de Cinema (ESP), Paris International Film Festival (FR) and Scandinavian International Film Festival (FIN).

In commercials he has worked with brands including Sony, BMW, Buick, Acne, Rapha, Vans and Adidas. Many of his projects have been featured in i-D, Dazed & Confused, Hypebeast, VICE, The Fader, Nowness, David Reviews, 1.4 and SHOTS.

He is also known for his award-winning shorts Lovebirds, Future Ruins, Organ and Hypoxia, and for collaborating with contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei on the documentary Ai Weiwei at Cycladic.

Previously he served as Head of Development at Danish broadcaster TV 2 and as Creative Director at production company Strix, where he developed several TV formats.

Martin is a member of the Danish Writers Guild.
