Martin Garde Abildgaard is a writer and director based in Copenhagen.

His debut feature film A BEAUTIFUL CURSE has been screened at 20+ international film festivals and won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Film at  

the 31st Cinequest Film Festival (USA), Galacticat Festival de Cinema (ESP), Paris International Film Festival (FR) 

and Scandinavian International Film Festival (FIN).

Within commercials Martin has worked with brands like Sony, BMW, Buick, Acne, Rapha, Vans and Adidas. 

Many of his projects have been highlighted in i-D Magazine, Dazed & Confused, Hypebeast, Vice, The Fader, Nowness, David Reviews, 1.4 and SHOTS.

Martin is also known for his award winning shorts LOVEBIRDS, FUTURE RUINS, ORGAN and HYPOXIA, 

 and for his collaboration with the Chinese contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei 

on the documentary AI WEIWEI AT CYCLADIC.

Martin has earlier been Head of Development at Danish broadcaster TV 2 and Creative Director in the production company Strix, where he has developed several tv-formats. 

Martin is a member of Danish Writers Guild and Danish Film Directors.
